During my recent visit to Van Cortland Park, I discovered Van Cortland Lake, and was lucky enough to see a wealth of wildlife gracing the surface of this stunning stretch of water, made even more enchanting by the reflected hues of the autumn leaves. Here are some of the many, many photographs I took. I hope you enjoy them, and if you’re in the area, I hope you go see this beautiful place for yourself.

The colors in these images are beautiful!!!
Thanks Carla, most of the credit goes to Mother Nature, the reflection of the leaves lit up the lake like liquid gold. xxx
I love the way the pattern of the reflections mimics the birds’ plumage, for instance in the penultimate photo…
I know, I can’t decide which one I like the most, they all have something unique about them. It was a really great day and location to be taking photos. x
These are all so lovely, it would be hard to choose a favorite!
Thanks Susie, that settles it, I’ve decided I like them all equally 😉 So glad you enjoyed them. x

Such a peaceful feeling to the photos of floating ducks and geese, and the autumn colors bring in just that little bit of melancholy.
It really is a lovely area, well worth a visit. Glad you enjoyed the photos. x

Thanks Anita, I got really lucky with the light and the reflection of the trees on the water. Thanks for stopping by my blog! x
