These beautiful little guys were incredibly shy to start out, so I spent a lot of time standing very still in order to capture these images, but it was worth it. I had seen them on film before but this was the first time I’d seen hummingbirds in the flesh, and the most surprising thing for me, apart from the vibrancy of their red plumage, was their wingsound as they sped by me.

Thanks Andrea, I couldn’t get over how quickly they moved, many of my photos ended up being of a blurry piece of tail feather, but I was lucky to get a few good ones in there too 🙂
